Central Wisconsin Interstate Alliance Applauds Governor for Including I-39/90/94 Project Enumeration in Budget Proposal

MADISON – Tuesday night, Governor Tony Evers unveiled a two-year budget plan recognizing the significance of modernizing the I-39/90/94 Corridor. The governor understands that this corridor, at the end of its useful life, is vital to Wisconsin’s economy and the safety and well-being of its residents. The Central Wisconsin Interstate Alliance issued the following comments in response:

Bill Elliott, Tourism Federation of Wisconsin President
“We applaud Governor Evers for taking the next step and keeping the crucial I-39/90/94 project moving forward. This route connects major population centers—Chicago, Milwaukee, Madison, Minneapolis—to Wisconsin’s popular outdoor recreation and tourist destinations. Wisconsin’s tourism-related companies and communities rely on a safe and efficient transportation system, specifically free-flowing modern highways, to bring visitors to all the wonderful destinations in the state.”

Alan Kaplan, MD, CEO, UW Health
“We are grateful to the Governor and members of the Transportation Projects Commission for their strong support of the I-39/90/94 project. As a healthcare provider serving patients across the entirety of Wisconsin, I know that moving this project forward with a Hoepker Road interchange will bring state-of-the-art medical facilities and services closer to many communities currently struggling with access to care. We look forward to continuing our work with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and the many active stakeholders to modernize this critical corridor to the benefit of the entire state.”

Debby Jackson, Transportation Development Association of Wisconsin Executive Director
“We are pleased to see the governor move the I-39/90/94 project forward and will continue to advocate for this essential project.”
